A new report out of Taiwan claims that Apple is going to launch a cheaper iPhone model in March next year. It adds that this is going to be a 4.7-inch iPhone which will be based on the iPhone 8 design. Since there is a subset of customers who opt for phones with smaller displays, Apple has catered to them previously with the iPhone SE, but it was discontinued last year.

Perhaps the company sees reason enough to relaunch another smaller iPhone, one that’s a bit more modern in terms of the design. The report mentions that this new 4.7 inch iPhone is going to feature Apple’s A13 chip, a single lens camera with 128GB of storage. It’s expected to be priced around $650.

The design choice that Apple is reportedly making for this model suggests that it’s going to retain the home button with the Touch ID sensor, something that Apple has removed on its more recent models. Since Apple has recently launched new iPad Air and iPad mini models with Touch ID, it won’t be out of the ordinary for the company to introduce a new iPhone with it as well.
